Who are we?
The Gathering is the youth group of the Lower Mountains Anglican Parish. We are a group of teenagers (and leaders) who gather together each week to encourage each other and have fun.
Central to what we do is Jesus. We love him, and follow him in our lives. Whenever we gather together we seek to learn more about him. And it is our hope that many more people come to know who Jesus is and to see the love he has for us.
We are glad that you have come across our webpage, but don’t just leave it there. Come check us out in person!
How do we meet?
Friday: 7-9pm at Glenbrook Anglican Church, during school term time
On Friday nights we gather together as a youth group for people in High School. Anyone from any background is welcome to join us. We play games, hear from others, share food and read the bible together in discussion groups to learn more about Jesus and to encourage each other.
Each term we also have special outings and other events. And you may even be lucky enough to come along to our annual camp.
Sunday: 6pm at Glenbrook Anglican Church
On Sunday nights, we as the youth gather together with the rest of our evening church congregation. Here we spend time singing, praying, reading the bible, and then hearing a sermon (a 20-30min talk about the bible passage we read). This is a great time to meet with other Christians.
Just so you know, the leaders are committed to caring for the youth. We have all undergone Safe Ministry training and Working with Children Checks. The ‘Gathering’ Friday nights runs with a leader to youth ratio of approx 1:5. We invite parents to come in to meet the leaders as they drop-off/pick up their kids. If you would like more information, feel free to make contact with us through our church office.
