Youth on Friday for years 7 to 12
Glenbrook Church
7.30pm to 8.30pm

The Gathering kicked-off for ’08 on Friday the 15th.

Formerly known as SouLeze, our parish youth group continues to grow in number as it meets as a community coming together around Jesus Christ.

The new year brings new leaders to the team. This is exciting as some of these new leaders are people who have themselves been part of the youth group in the past.

Here are some of the events coming up for the group this year. The first is Mega Surge. You may have heard of Youth Surges, which are meetings, twice a year, of youth groups from an area, designed to inspire and invigorate those groups. Well this year all of the groups join together in at the Olympic stadium to hear four talks. These talks will focus on Faith, Grace, Jesus and the Bible. This will be a great chance to hear fantastic talks and an opportunity to see that there are many young people seeking to following Jesus in the Sydney area.

Another event is the annual Youth Camp. It is booked for the last weekend of the school holidays in October—(10th to 12th). If you have been in a youth group, I am pretty sure you would be able to tell me about the camps you went on. I hope that this camp will be like one of those significant times in the youth of the parish.

Can you also put these date in your diary now…1st—3rd August, which will be our Evening Weekend away, and will be down at Port Hacking at Telford.

Please pray for the Gathering each week, for the leaders and the Blah groups (our weekly bible study groups).

Finally, there will be a Coffee & Dessert Night for the parents— and supporters – of the Gathering. This will be an opportunity for people to find out exactly what our plans are for the Gathering this year; to learn more about what we are on about; and to ask questions. It will be a bit like a Teacher/Parent night at school. The leaders will be there along with some great desserts! This will be happening on the 6th March, at 7.40pm. If you are interested please email me: share@lmap.org.au—there will be more information coming later.
