Glenbrook 4.30pm - Map

Afternoon Church
The Afternoon Congregation meets each week on Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm, at Glenbrook Anglican Church (cnr Wascoe and Raymond, near the service station).
The service goes for about an hour, after which we continue to meet over coffee, or an informal meal together twice a month (prepared by the rostered growth cell group).
After the first 15 minutes of the service, the kids move out to “Kidzone” in various age groups: crèche for preschoolers, Kindergarten to Year 2, Years 3 to 5, and Years 6 to 8. At this stage teenagers are not catered for with their own group, but are very welcome to either remain with the adults or be involved with children’s ministry some of the time.
Currently, the majority of the preaching is done by the parish’s senior minister, Wayne Presbury, with sermons from other staff members and lay people at different times. Men and women with suitable gifting and training are able to preach as opportunities arise.
The coffee or meals following the service are key time of ministering to one another, e.g. welcoming new people, getting to know someone not well known to you, praying with someone in need, or going a bit deeper in conversation with friend. In the warmer months, this takes place outdoors, with the kids free to run around together.

Google Group for the 4:30 Service
Fil Mackay has set up a Google Group for the 4:30 Congregation. The purpose of this group is to faciliate communication and discussion between regular attenders of the 4:30PM service, so that wardens won’t bore you with 20 minute PowerPoint presentations every week, or make announcements on decisions relating to the maintenance of squeeky doors.
This is a closed group, meaning non-attenders will not be able to
